Olay Regenerist Lotion and Deep Hydration Cream - I cant say enough about the Olay Regenerist Line but this stuff is excellent and is very affordable. It really helps with cell turnover so if you have any type of age spots or scars this stuff will help to fade them. I recommended the Olay Sleep Cream as well.

I love this Olay Regenerist Cleanser. Its got those scrubby things so that you can really clean your face and exfoliate all in one. No need to use a toner with this stuff. Excellent product!

As far as foundation goes I like 2 types.
I love all MAC products but MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation is one of the best. It is good for acne prone skin as well.
It delivers a flawless finish that will last all day long. This stuff is better if you have normal to oily skin.
If you have dry skin you can use it but just make sure to use a good moisturizer before you apply.

Bare escentuals is good for any skin type but you have to make sure to wash your brushes weekly.
This kit for $60 includes the brushes, foundation, mineral veil (powder), warmth (bronzer) etc.
If you use the maximim concealer brush it works on hiding all types of acne, scars, broken capillaries etc.

LipGlass - If you dont like to wear lipstick, MAC has tinted lipglass to provide some color with a lot of gloss.
This stuff is sticky but it makes your lips shimmer and sparkle!

Blemish Therapy - If you are like me and tend to break out alot then try Rare Minerals Blemish Therpay.
Its the only stuff that works almost instantly for me. It contains 3% sulfur and will dry up that blemish in less tha a day. Some people say the sulfur has a strong smell when you first open the container but it goes away.
The trick with this stuff is to wash the affected area and then pat a decent amount on it. Try not to put anything over it. It does conceal decently well but if you are darker complected you will notice it.

TreSemme Dry Shampoo- one of my personal favorites. I wake up and put this on the top of my hair and then blow dry. My hair looks like I just washed it!
http://www.tresemme.com/Products/Fresh-Start/Fresh-Start-Dry-Shampoo/
Pureology Hair Products - what can I say about this stuff except that it will make your hair feel like silk.
Its 100% vegan and contains no sulfates either. Its not the cheapest but you will be glad you spent the money. I prefer the Hydrate and Repair lines from Pureology because my hair tends to be dry and brittle from straightening it too much.
You can buy this stuff at Giant Eagle or from your local hair stylists as well as ebay.

Loreal Everpure Shampoos and Conditioners are good if you cant afford Pureology.
It works well and is also Sulfate Free.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about makeup and skincare products. I had thought about trying a bunch that you mentioned but wasn't sure if they would actually work or be worth the extra money. I will have to try the dry shampoo, right now I have to wash it every single day :( have you tried the skin genesis products? They look pretty but I'm not sure how they work. Also, I'm looking for something to make my hair less frizzy and softer. I was considering biosilk, but its so expensive.
ReplyDeleteanytime carmen!! oh yeah that dry shampoo is a lifesaver. i can easily go 3-4 days without washing and my hair looks nice and fresh. it keeps it from getting greasy too. i havent tried the skin genesis products yet. who makes them? if you get some of that pureology stuff it will def make your hair less frizzy. their conditioner works amazingly well. you could also try john frieda frizz-ease. does it get frizzy from blow drying? if so use that thermal heat spray. that really helps!
ReplyDeleteI think Loreal makes Skin Genesis, the whole line has pink packaging. I might have to give it a try. I have other John Frieda products, but they seem to work about the same as everything else. I usually just let my hair air dry, I only dry it if I'm going to straighten it (which is very rare lol). I'm very lazy when it comes to that stuff, I usually just don't mess with it and have it in a ponytail or bun everyday. I had no idea that Pureology stuff was so expensive, when you said it wasn't the cheapest I figured maybe like 15-20 dollars for a bottle, not 50+ lol
ReplyDeleteOh yeah I think I have seen theh Skin Genesis products before. I might get some samples to check them out.
ReplyDeletePureology isnt that expensive at all. Its $29.99 in the store but you can get it on ebay for about $21 or $22 a bottle. Its totally worth it!
Lol yeah I have to straighten my hair or it looks awful and very frizzy. Its not a good look -ha!
